Perth

BEST OF PERTH - LOCAL INSIDER

I never intended to live in Perth. On reflection, it was a very happy consequence of Australian Covid 19 restrictions that allowed me to abruptly change my plans and call the capital of Western Australia home for six gorgeous months.

Having fully taken advantage of Covid free living, I made the most of my time living and working in Perth. I can confidently call myself a local Perthie as a result!

Perth City & CBD

Take the opportunity to play Shops and Shots in Northbridge, browse the independent bookstores and vintage clothes shops and refuel with a cocktail at one of the many Northbridge secret bar locations.

Hunt down hundreds of records in the music shops, catch a rooftop movie or eat at Sienna’s, the best Italian restaurant the suburb of Leederville has to offer.

Live like a local in Perth and venture to Cottlesloe Beach and grab some handmade Icecream to cool off from the Western Australian summer weather. Or, head to Scarborough Beach to indulge in the local favourite thing to do; the famous Scarborough Night Markets for sunsets and serious food bloat.

Freemantle

Explore the vibrant and colourful port City of Freemantle; get the inside information on the Freemantle Markets, what Freemantle Prison tour cannot be missed & my favourite photo opportunities at the Rainbow Sea Container.

Find out the best time of year to visit Rottnest Island, cycle the beautiful island, snorkel crystal clear turquoise waters and take a picture with the friendliest animal on earth, the native Quoka!
