Queensland

QUEENSLAND

Considering I am a Sydney girl at heart, I can happily and honestly admit that New South Wales doesn’t quite have the beauty the state of Queensland has to offer.

Between completing 88 days farming and then an additional gruelling six month stint in a packing shed for Australian regional farmwork requirements, I unintentionally spent a year in Queensland.

To read all about my experience as a backpacker picking fruit for a second and third year Australian Working Holiday Visa – click here! The things we do for an Australian visa…

Also – My friends at Londoner In Sydney also featured an in-depth article on my Aussie farm work experience – you can read all about it along with some other peoples nightmare experiences!

Free from the farm, I finally got to tick off my Austrian travel bucket list with a three month Queensland Camper van road trip!

It’s safe to say, I have explored the state of Queensland thoroughly and there is still so much more to see!

Go With Gabbs to Queensland

You cant compete with Queensland epic waterfalls, vast sweeping tropical rainforests, surfers paradise beaches & Incredible Islands dotted along the entire coast.

Not forgetting Queensland cities. You have the party capital of Queensland; Cairns, providing the gateway to The Great Barrier reef and Daintree National Forrest, the oldest rainforest in the world.

Or the Queensland Capital Brisbane; the city on the river with its cultural precinct South Bank full of museums and ever-changing exhibitions.

However, If you are wanting to escape city life, you are only a few hours drive from The Sunshine Coast; with gorgeous coastal towns like Airlie Beach, Noosa and Port Douglas. Where the beaches are miles long, palm tree’s line the skyline and temperatures rarely drop below 20 degrees all year round.
